Agape Information
The Emmaus Agape team provides selfless acts of giving and service during a weekend Walk to support the pilgrims and Walk team members. The team practices agape love through anonymous servanthood, expecting nothing in return.
Serving on the Emmaus Agape team is carrying out the example that Jesus set for us when he washed the feet of the disciples. And we all want and need to be more like Jesus! If you are interested in serving on this very love-filled and important team, send your contact information to email – fvwteagape@gmail.com
Agape Walk Teams
What Does the Emmaus Agape Team Do?
The Emmaus Agape team will be made up of the following for each Walk in 2025:
Agape Walk Co-Leads will coordinate and delegate the Agape activities and teams (2 people)
The Dining Room Agape Team will be responsible for all dining room activities, including setting the tables, cleaning, taking down, decorating, distributing meal agape, and communicating with kitchen staff. (2 people)
The Snack Agape Team will be responsible for collecting and preparing the donated snacks, setting up the snack room, keeping the snacks and drinks filled, setting up the ice cream social, and communicating with Assistant Lay Directors regarding requests, needs, etc. (2 people)
The Cleaning and Book Room Team will be responsible for light cleaning of the sleeping quarters and bathrooms a couple of times each day, distributing room agape, communicating any special requests to Co-Leads, collecting and preparing the donated books, and setting up the Book Room. (2 people)
The Pilgrim Care Team will be responsible for preparing supplies for the Conference Room, preparing the pilgrim packets and binders, collecting and sorting Agape letters, creating contact rosters and bulletin inserts, and setting up the commissioning ceremony. (2 people)
Other duties may also be assigned, and some team members may need to be on more than one team if we cannot fill all the positions. No experience is necessary – training, instructions, and all the supplies will be provided. We need willing hearts, helping hands, and the ability to be present for one or both of the 3-day Walks in April.
